Jerry Spriggs, B.A., M.S. is a retired instructional designer with a distinguished career developing curricula and training strategies for the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, and several Fortune 500 companies. His work focused on creating engaging, inclusive, and effective learning experiences that empowered students and professionals alike.
Raised on a farm in North Dakota, Jerry spent his early years immersed in fieldwork and raising cattle. Though rural life was often isolated, it sparked a deep appreciation for experience and exploration.
Now living in Oregon with his wife, Jerry finds constant inspiration in the state’s rivers, mountains, beaches, and abundant wildlife, as well as in its diverse and vibrant communities.
An enthusiast of board games, card games, and tabletop play, Jerry became deeply interested in how game mechanics such as rules, fairness, inclusivity, engagement, and fun could inform and enhance instructional design. He brought this playful yet purposeful approach to his career, helping learners develop both confidence and competence through creative, well-structured educational experiences.
